2022: The Earley Charity Grant (£1800). Awarded for the creation of a canopy to support volunteers' on-site activities, alongside a skip and bench. A private party funded the remaining £450 needed to enact these visions.
2022: Reading Borough Council Small Grants Award (£1000). This was awarded to enable the purchase of stone-sculpting tools, and transport for the stone used in BIG's free Islamic Art Stone Sculpting sessions.
2020: RVA Reading Community Grant (£2000). This was used to purchase gardening equipment, PPE, and training, amongst other things, and allowed us to pay for a garden guide to help with on-site development.
We are still looking for funding for benches, screens, a canopy, a garden trolley, a wormery, trellises, and employing garden buddies for vulnerable adults.
BIG is funded solely through donations and the grants we win. As a 100% not-for-profit organisation, all funds received go directly towards supporting our projects.
